• Neutrality acts:

-1935 & 1937

-Embargo on arms sales.

-US battle ships could not be armed.

-Americans could not travel on ships of countries at war.

• Effects of Pearl Harbor Attack:

- December 7, 1941; 7:02 am.

-Made America get mad at Japan.

-Caused dropping of another atomic bomb.

• Japanese Internment:

-Japanese were put in relocation camps.

-Korematsu vs the US.

-All Japanese & of Japanese descent were subjected to them.

-Police had power to capture who ever they saw was of this race.

• Purpose of Propaganda:

-Propaganda was used to make people read them & get informed from them.

-They were used to get families to believe that Hitler was good & if that they did what the propaganda suggested then they would have a better life. But off course this wasn't true.

• Rationing :

-Rationing happened during the WWII so that every soldier was full and well fed.

-It was also for everyone in general.

• Cause & effect of use of the atomic bomb :

- The atomic bomb was dropped twice on Japan by America.

-The purpose of it was to end the war.

-The purpose was met and Japan did surrender.

• Role of women during WWII:

-Women were greatly needed.

-Did normal housewife work.

-Took care of kids and family.

-Aided as nurses at war.

-They were the ones who drove the economy during the time.

• Effects of the war on Europe:

-Ended European imperialism.

-Collapsed Economy.

-Infrastructure destroyed.

• US Foreign policy before, during & after the war:

-Before: isolationist.

-During: In the middle. Up & down.

After: internationalist, involve in the affairs of other countries.

• Results of WWII:

-Baby boom period.

-US joined United Nations.

-Economy was not so good.

This is a brass compass which was utilized during WWII. These compasses were a key item to have by your side. Many times at night soldiers would get lost or even at sunlight it was hard to tell which way one was going. These compasses were actually no that expensive. They came in a brass finish and with a white carrying pouch. Many soldiers saw them as a very meaningful item and took very good care of them. Grandfathers many times give their grandsons these special items from war on their birthdays and on holidays, maybe someday it can help them somehow.

The powerful Unites States & Genocide.

In other countries the US is viewed s practically the "big cheese". When people in smaller, less fortunate countries hear the name of our country they practically melt. They're eyes start to shine and hope suddenly becomes the main word in their minds. There is big general stereotype that we are powerful and that we can do anything. But is that necessarily true? Well i believe not. Should we get involved in other countries affairs? Now that's a very controversial topic. When it comes to genocide we don't think that it is still going on today. But believe it or not it is. Now should we get involved in interventions in these countries? i think it depends. If it isn't something too big then i think not. Those countries should figure out a way to try and solve those problems someway somehow. In such cases the US should worry about US citizens in those countries and try to get them home and safe  as soon as possible. Now if the matter comes into bigger problems then yes. The US and countries like it do have the power to intervene and try to do something about it. While this topic will always remain very controversial i think it is something very delicate and should be dealt with it in a very careful manner.

Cinderella man outline.

I. A Legend.
     A.The great James Braddock.
         1. Cinderella man
         2.Boxer in look for a better life for him and his family.
     B. His family.
         1. Wife: Mae Braddock.
         2. Children: 3 in total. (2 boys & 1 girl.)
         3. Best friend : Mike Wilson.
II. Harsh times.
     A. The great depression.
         1. Jimmy lost everything he had because of the stock market crash of 1929.
         2. Goes out to search for jobs but it becomes hard.
         3. The whole family is affected because of the crisis.
     B. Things get worse.
         1. Jimmy breaks his hand while fighting.
         2. This means he cant get jobs.
         3. Ends up going to get relief money.
III. The great comeback.
    A. A new start
         1. Starts out with a couple of bad fights.
         2. Coach & manger Joe is decided to get him in further.
         3. People don't believe he can make it.
         4. a spark is ignited in him and he is determined to make it happen.
   B. Fights.
        1. Even though she knows wins equal money, his wife is nervous about him getting hurt.
        2. He gets a really big fight in the rink at Madison Square garden.
        3. This was a huge step.
        4. Goes on to many great Fights.
   C. The great champion.
        1. Jimmy moves on to fight heavyweight.
        2. Has a scheduled fight with Max Baer.
        3. People warn him not to go through with the fight.
        4. Jimmy goes on with the fight.
        5. He wins & becomes the new heavyweight champion of the world.
V. After the fighting.
    A. After the storm  
        1. Jimmy gets enough money to pay back his relief money he ha borrowed.
        2. He pays all the bills that are overdue.
        3. His family is happy again.
    B. Being happy.
        1. Jimmy works in construction.
        2. owns his own machines.
        3. Buys a big house for his family.
        4. Live happily ever after.
